iPhone and iPod will be Blu-Ray Player Remote Controller

iPhone and iPod touch users will be able to control their Blu-ray players using an application called BD Touch. The application will use the network capabilities of Blu-ray hardware and Apple’s handheld devices to transfer data.

The iPhone application will be able to interact directly with movies, showing extra information in the iPhone. It will also be able to keep a database of your movie collection. BD Touch will also be able to get digital copies of the movies inside the Blu-ray disc, presumably already encoded for iPod touch and iPhone playback.

LG Electronics is officially announcing the launch of a Blu-ray writer that has Blu-ray writing speed of 6x Max.

This is an IDE device that can be mounted on any existing Desktop PC. While a normal CD has a storage capacity of approximately 700 MB, a double layer Blu-ray can actually store up to 50 GB of data.

LG maintains that approximately 35 Bollywood movies can be stored in one Blu-ray Disc.
